Controls that float,
not cover.
Floating Pill is a new built-in skin. Instead of a bar stretched edge to edge, your controls sit in a small frosted capsule inside the frame, so the video keeps its corners and your lower thirds stay readable.
Free skin. Built in. No add-on, no setup.
Your controls sit in a small frosted capsule inside the frame.
Why a pill
A control bar should not eat the bottom of your video.
Full-width bars sit on top of the exact strip where captions, logos and lower thirds live. Floating Pill pulls the controls inward and shrinks them to what is actually used.
Nothing gets covered
The bar detaches from the bottom edge, insets 16px and caps at 420px wide. Subtitles, watermarks and burned-in text stay visible while the controls are up.
Your brand on the scrubber
The played portion picks up your branding colour automatically. Everything else, including icons, volume and buffer, stays neutral white, so the accent is the one thing that reads.
Familiar on sight
Modelled on QuickTime: volume left, transport dead centre, settings and fullscreen on the right edge. Viewers already know where to reach.
Where it fits
Four bars along the bottom.
One that lifts off it.
Presto Player already ships Basic, Modern, Business and Stacked. Every one of them is a variation on a bar that spans the frame. Floating Pill is the first that does not. It joins the same Skin dropdown, and nothing you already use changes.
Basic
The stock bar: one row on a dark gradient, progress inline.
Modern
Same row, but the whole bar is your brand colour at 75%.
Business
Play sits apart; the rest join into one black strip.
Stacked
Progress on its own row, controls split left and right.
Floating Pill New
Detached and frosted, transport dead centre.
Anatomy
Smoked glass, hairline edge,
everything where you expect it.
Volume, left
Hugs the left edge and stays monochrome, so it never competes with the scrubber.
Transport, centred
Rewind, play and forward are pinned to the true centre of the pill, so play stays put no matter what else is on.
Right cluster
Captions, settings, PiP and fullscreen ride the right edge as one group.
Scrubber, own row
Elapsed time, progress and duration drop to a second row so the bar never feels cramped.
Try it
Switch skins and watch it happen.
This is the player, not a screenshot. Pick a skin on the right and the frame rebuilds itself. Same video, same controls, different bar.

Turn it on
Three clicks, no code.
Floating Pill is a preset option, so you switch it once and every video on that preset follows.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Will this change videos I have already published?
Only the ones using a preset you switch. Every other preset keeps its current skin, and nothing is migrated for you.
Does it work with every video source?
Yes. YouTube, Vimeo, Bunny.net and self-hosted video all render the same skin, because it restyles the player controls rather than the source.
Can I still hide individual controls?
Yes. The per-preset toggles for rewind, speed, captions, PiP and the rest all apply. The pill re-balances itself around whatever you leave on.
How does it behave on mobile?
The capsule shrinks to the frame width minus 24px, so on a phone it spans nearly the full width while keeping its rounded, inset look.
What about older browsers?
The skin leans on modern CSS for a couple of layout touches. Where a browser does not support them the spacing relaxes slightly, but the pill still renders and playback is never affected.
Is Floating Pill available for audio players?
Not in this release. The skin styles the video player only; audio presets keep their existing options.
