How to Approve, Reject and Block Recordings in Presto Capture
Recordings from visitors and members don’t go live on their own. They wait in Recordings until you approve them, so nothing lands on your site without a quick look first. If someone keeps sending junk, you can block them from recording again.
Applies to: Presto Capture 1.0.0 and above.
Before You Begin
- You need to be an Editor or Administrator to moderate recordings.
Find Recordings Waiting for Approval
- Go to Presto Capture > Recordings.
- Click the Awaiting approval filter.

Only you, other moderators and the person who recorded a video can watch it while it waits.
Approve a Recording
- Click Preview to watch the recording.
- Click Approve.
The recording is published. If it came with a review or reply, that is approved too.
Reject a Recording
- Click Reject next to the recording.
- Click Reject and delete to confirm.

Rejecting does three things:
- Deletes the recording and its file for good.
- Takes down the review or reply it was posted with.
- Adds a strike against the member who recorded it.
Note: Use Delete instead if the recording is fine but you don’t want to keep it. Delete removes the recording and its review or reply, but it doesn’t add a strike.
Block a Recorder
The Recordings list shows how many strikes each member has. If someone keeps abusing the recorder, block them.
- Find a recording from that member.
- Click Block recorder.
A blocked member sees “You can’t record on this site.” on every recorder. To let them record again, click Unblock recorder. Use the Blocked filter to see everyone you’ve blocked.

Note: Presto Capture blocks a member automatically after 2 faked uploads. A faked upload is a file bigger or longer than the recorder can make, which means it didn’t come from the real recorder.
How It Works with Reviews and Replies
| Where the recording came from | How approval works |
|---|---|
| WooCommerce review or SureDash reply | The recording and its comment move together. Approve either one and both go live. Mark the comment as spam and the member gets a strike. |
| SureCart review | The video shows once the written review is published in SureCart. |
| SureForms entry | Recordings are saved as private and stay with the entry. They don’t enter the approval queue. |
Good to Know
- Trusted users skip the queue. Authors and above, and any trusted roles you add, publish right away. See Understanding Trust Tiers in Presto Capture.
- Anonymous visitors can’t be blocked. Many people can share one connection, so rate limits keep them in check instead.
- Recordings waiting for approval are never auto-deleted. The unused recordings cleanup leaves them alone.
You can now keep every recording on your site in check and stop repeat offenders with one click.
