Presto Capture FAQ
Quick answers to the questions we hear most about Presto Capture.
Applies to: Presto Capture 1.0.0 and above.
Does Presto Capture work without Presto Player?
No. Presto Capture needs Presto Player to work. The free version of Presto Player is enough for saving recordings to your Media Library.
Do I need Presto Player Pro?
Only if you want to save recordings to Bunny.net Stream or use Bunny collections. Recording to your WordPress Media Library works with free Presto Player.
Do my visitors need an account?
No. Visitors can record without signing up, unless you set the recorder to Logged-in users only.
Do visitors need to install anything?
No. Recording works right in the browser, with no app or download.
Which browsers are supported?
The latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop. Camera recording also works on phones.
Can visitors record on their phones?
Yes, with the camera. Screen recording only works on a computer, because mobile browsers don’t allow it.
Where are the files stored?
In your own Bunny.net account or your own WordPress Media Library. Nothing passes through Brainstorm Force servers.
Who pays for storage?
Bunny.net Stream usage is billed to your own Bunny.net account. Media Library recordings use your site’s disk space.
Can I limit how long people record?
Yes. Set a maximum length per block, per shortcode, or site-wide in Settings. The minimum is 5 seconds, and there is an Unlimited option.
Can I keep recordings private?
Yes, on both destinations. Private recordings play only for logged-in users.
Can I use it with Elementor, Bricks, Beaver Builder or the Classic Editor?
Yes. Use the [ presto_capture ] shortcode. See the Presto Capture Shortcode Reference article.
Why does my site need HTTPS?
Browsers only allow camera and screen access on a secure connection. See Why Presto Capture Needs HTTPS.
What happens if my licence expires?
Recording and playback keep working. Automatic updates stop, and a reminder shows in your dashboard.
