Privacy and Recordings in Presto Capture
Videos of real people deserve care. Presto Capture keeps every recording in a place you control, lets you make videos private, and lets you remove them whenever someone asks. Here’s what you need to know.
Applies to: Presto Capture 1.0.0 and above.
Where Recordings Are Stored
Recordings go straight from the visitor’s browser to the place you choose:
- Bunny.net Stream: Your own Bunny.net account.
- WordPress Media Library: Your own server.
Nothing passes through Brainstorm Force servers. Your Bunny.net API key also never reaches the visitor’s browser.
How to Keep Recordings Private
Private recordings play only for logged-in users.
- Click your Presto Capture block to select it.
- Set Privacy to Private in the block sidebar.
- Click Save.
Using the shortcode? Add privacy=”private”.
How privacy works on each destination:
- Bunny.net Stream: Uses signed playback links from Presto Player Pro.
- WordPress Media Library: Stores the file in Presto Player’s protected folder.
Tip: Want only members to be able to record too? Set Who can record to Logged-in users only.
How to Delete One Person’s Recordings
If someone asks you to remove their videos, follow these steps:
- Go to Presto Capture > Recordings.
- Search for the person’s recordings.
- Preview each one to confirm it’s theirs.
- Click Delete next to each recording.
- Confirm the delete.
Note: Deleting from Recordings removes both the Media Hub item and the video file. Deleting a form entry or a comment does not delete the video, so always delete from Recordings.
Note: Recordings from logged-out visitors show as Guest, with no account attached. Use the date, tags or a preview to find the right video.
Tell Your Visitors
It’s good practice to let visitors know what happens to their video. Consider adding a short line near your recorder, and an entry in your site’s privacy policy that covers:
- Where videos are stored
- Who can watch them
- How to ask for a video to be removed
